These take more than 24 hours including monthly and yearly rhythms. E.g. The menstrual cycle and SAD.

Takes approx 28 days and involves the release of an egg and prep of the womb for pregnancy. The Biological clock which controls this is the Pituitary Gland. A number of EZ’s also influence it.

Studied a young women who spent 3 months in a cave relying on only a dim light. Her menstrual cycle shortened to 25.7 days. + suggests that light effects the menstrual. –a study on one woman so can’t be generalised.

Collected daily samples of sweat from a group of women. The sweat samples collected from the one group were taken and rubbed on the upper lip of another group. Found that their menstrual cycles became synchronised with their ‘odour donor’.

Thought to be because of the pheromones in sweat. Called the McClintook effect. –not all research supports. All cycles are irregular.
