What is Nationalism?
The desire to live with people of the same language and culture in the same place and to be ruled by someone/a group of people who belong to this language and culture

The desire of freedom of expression, opinion, religion, press, the freedom to set up a business, equality before the law, and the right to vote

What is socialism/radicalism?
The desire of a new and fairer economy and taxation system

Who is Louis Blanc?
Introduced the ideas of socialism and radicalism from France

Who was Louis XVIII?
He was heir to the French throne and gave the public freedom with a charter in hopes of not being overthrown

What did Louis XVIII's Charter mainly state?
Equality of all before the law; freedom of press, worship, and from wrongful imprisonment; and a fair taxation system

Who is Charles X?
A conservative French King who desired to give the Catholic Church the same power it had in the Medieval Ages and so took down many of Louis XVIII's reforms which upset the public (mainly liberals, Bonapartists, and republicans).

Who was Louis Phillippe?
King elected by the people after the 1830 Revolutions opposing Charles X politics.

Who was Guizot?
Louis Phillippe's minister. He was thought to be worst than Charles X in the way that he banned many Reform Banquets and angered the public causing violent uprisings and Louis Phillippe to dismiss him.

What were the April Elections?
A provisional government is set up after Louis Phillippe runs away to England. Elections for a Constituent Assembly are set up in April. Meanwhile, there was a financial crisis and taxes fall onto peasants, angering them even more.

What were the June Days?
Armed people were gathered in the streets to protest their want for a change in government. The government is able to suppress these uprisings.

What were the December Elections
Elections in which Louis Napoleon is elected and starts the 2nd Republic, which he quickly over throws to declare himself emperor
