the range of a set of data refers to the difference between the smallest and largest number.

The "median" is the "middle" value in the list of numbers.

how to work out a fraction ?
In order to compare fractions, you need to change them so they have the same denominator. Fractions can be converted into decimals. You need to be able to work out a fraction of a given quantity.

what is a decimal ?
A decimal is a way of writing a number that is not whole. Decimal numbers are 'in between' numbers. For example, 10.4 is in between the numbers 10 and 11. It is more than 10, but less than 11.
