Explain the pituitary adrenal system
Long term- hypothalamus communicate pituitary glands, release ACTH, stimulates adrenal cortex, release corticosteroids, convert fat & protein to energy

hypothalamus activates sympathetic nervous system, stimulates adrenal medulla, release adrenaline & noradrenaline, body ready for fight ot flight- raise blood pressure and heart rate

What happens during oxidative phosphorylation
reduced coenzymes split into H+ & e-, electrons move along transport chain lose energy, pumps H+ into intermenbrane space, move down gradient back into matrix via ATP synthase, energy combines Pi and ADP to form ATP (chemiosmosis) H+& e- & O = water
