opportunity sample
where people who are avaliable to you that fit your criteria are used.

Random sample
this is where all of the population have the same, equal chance of being selected.

this is a self selected sample as those who want to take part in the study will volunteer for it.

internal reliablility
this is concerned with the consistancy of a test. it is usually assessed using the split-half method. this compares the first half of the test with the second half to check whether scores are consistant.

external reliability
is the ability to produce the same results every time the research is done. it is assessed by using the test-retest method.
