The difference is that a confounding variable will affect everyone in the study or who mare being tested at the time e.g. the time of day. An extraneous variable is something that only generally affects one person. e.g amount of sleep

Give an example of a directional hypothesis for the Tv study
The people who have to rmemeber the items with the tv on will recall less items compared to those who were learning without the tv on.

what is a natural experiment?
no direct manipulation of the IV so just observing behaviours.
