What is Representation
The way in which the media takes aspects of reality, and re-presents this to their audience (using visual and technical codes)

The ways in which the audience decodes a text, depends on their personal experiences, cultural,religious views ect. Suggesting audiences are active in the way they choose to respond to texts.

The use of ethnic 'supporting characters' to give the appearance of racial equality in the media text.
