Hydroelectric power
Water is trapped in a dam and the gravitational potential energy of that water tries to flow down hill which can be harnessed.
1 of 8
Tidal power
Where the moon attracts the water on the earth then causes the tides and the water can be harnessed.
2 of 8
Wave power
As the wind blows on the surface of the sea, it causes waves and we can harness that.
3 of 8
Solar power
We can use the heat from the sun to heat water or we can use the light from the sun
4 of 8
Wind power
Harnesses the movement energy of the wind using wind turbines.
5 of 8
Geo thermal power
Deep within the earths core there are nuclear reactions taking place and those produce a lot of heat which is what keeps the core and mantle so hot and so we can harness the heat.
6 of 8
Biomass
Renewable over a long period of time. Only just fits the renewable category due to the ash it produces.
7 of 8
Problems with renewable energy
1. Most energy is dilute(not a lot!) 2, A lot of them depend on the weather 3. They dont look nice 4. Can damage haitats
