who is socrates?
socrates was a great teacher and philosopher who taught young minds to think for themselves.

why did the leaders of athens dislike him?
because socrates was a threat to them. socrates introduced new gods and questioned greek myths and believed that the gods weernt worth worshipping. teaching people to think for themselves was dangerous to the authorities. questions threaten stability

why did socrates die?
because he was charged with corrupting young minds and introducing new gods. he was to be put to death or sent to exile. he chose death as he had lived by athens rules so why should he run away now. he drank hemlock and died.

what is the world of forms?
world of forms is the idea that there is a perfect version of everything in the world of forms. our world is just a shadow of the real forms.in our world there are just copies of the perfect form of each thing.

what is the story of plato and the cave?
in a cave prisoners are faced to a wall they see are shadows. alf breaks free and turns around. he sees guards making shadows with objects. the prisoners dont dont care. alf walks outside and sees the sun. at first alf is blinded but alf is free.

what do these things represent: alf, guards, shadows, prisoners, cave and the sun?
alf=socrates guards=authorities of athens shadows=what the authorities show and teach us. just shadows of the truth prisoners=normal people cave=the world that we see the sun=the truth

an analogy is when you describe something with a comparison.

love of wisdom

it is learning from your and others mistakes. it is wisdom and experience.

we gain knowlage from our and others senses and experiences this is empiricism.
