Just to let you know some of these answers are incorrect, specifically 2 and 3.  Smoking is not regarded as haram by the majority of scholars in Islam.  It is mukruh (detestable) but not forbidden.  It is intoxicants which are haram as they cloud the mind and 'open the door to the devil' (shaytan)
