1. WJ - Passive

  • The person was not in control of what happened to them - sudden and happens from God
  • The person receives knowledge of the divine which is not otherwise available. The experience is therefore a direct revelation from God
  • May appear to last a long period of time but it may actually have been short - long lasting and involve a change view on the universe. Not permanent
  • The experience of God goes beyond the human power of description. The person feels they are unable to describe the experience or not to do it justice
