Popper
Argues science is a open belief system, as it is open to questioning, testing and falsification. Says religion is a closed belief system as people rely on faith rather than facts.

Religion acts as dual consciousness, false class consciousness, and legitimates inequality. Uses the term hegemony to describe how the UC has power through ideas moral thinking. Believes that the WC will overthrow capitalism, become class conscious.

All beliefs systems have 1 of 2 views about class, 1)Ideological thought-conservative, serves ruling class, 2)Utopian thought- reflects the underprivileged, has vision of change. Both gives partial truth, as only has views of part of society.

Ideas from science have been used to exclude women from edu. It defines women as inferior, as does religion.
