Stereotype
A crude mental image of a person from a particular group. This image is usually negative or incorect

Prejudice
Prejudging a person before knowing them. Often prejudice based on the stereotype of that person and is also usually negative and wrong. The old saying 'Don't judge a book by its cover' tries to discourage us from prejudging others

Discrimination
Treating someone differently because of prejudice. The treatment is often negative

Equality
The belief that every human being is equal to each other, whatever their skin colour, religion, race, gender etc

Reconciliation
Bringing opposing people or groups back together again

Ecumenism
The idea that all different religions groups should be united together. Some ecumenical groups are for different Christian denominations only, whilst others have representatives from other religions

Sharing beliefs and trying to persuade others to follow them
