A basic, long-lasting relationship founded on strong emotional ties and a reciprocal sense of commitment.

Emotional state characterized by physical attraction and extreme investment.

Companionate love
Feelings of affection which is characterized by mutual concern for each other. It is less intense than romantic love.

Relationships that until recently recieved minimal attention by researchers, e.g homosexual relationships.
