Reasons for Fatigue

?
PC Stores
When ATP runs out, muscle contraction will deteriorate. Depletion of PC causes reduction in ATP
1 of 6
H+ Accumulation
Hydrogen ions dissassociates from blood lactase to poruduce lactase. the excess h+ ions increase the acidity of the muscles leading to pain
2 of 6
Glycogen depletion
More relevant to endurance athletes. Once completely depleted causes fatigue as fats can only be used in conjunction with glycogen
3 of 6
Decreased avaliability of calcium ions
Lactic acid causes ca+ to accumulate in sarcoplasmic retitculus, thus muscle contraction is impaired
4 of 6
Neural fatigue
Decreases in avaliability of acetylcholine
5 of 6
Hydration
Water loss through sweating. Reduces effieincy of circulatory system, blood is more viscous. inhibits the thermoregulatory centre. Loss of electrolytes.
