3 of 6
Surrogacy in the Bible
Abraham and Sarah wanted a child. God had said they would have children but they were both very old. Sarah encouraged Abraham to have a baby with her servant girl, Hager, who bore them Ishmael
4 of 6
Christian support for surrogacy
Christians believe that responding to the love God gives them should involve loving responses to others. If they have been fortunate enough to have the ability to bear children, they should be able to share this gift with others who can't
5 of 6
Christian opposition to surrogacy
It involves another person in the relationship between the married couple and in the act of creating new human life. Also it undermines the right of the child to be conceived, carried in the womb, born and brought up within marriage.
