Why did the jews not want to pay taxes to the romans?
because it enabled them ot upkeep their army which let them run their empire efficently and remain in the jews promised land.

They took their beliefs only from the torah, taking no notice of the oral traditions and laws that tjhe pharisees held so highly. They did not belive in angels, life after detah or the messiah.

They believed the l;aws of the torah were supreme and mad ehundreds of laws to protect it. they reguarly argued with jesus casue he broke them. They believed in angels, life after death and the messiah.

The jewish council made up of 71 members, with Caiphas the igh priest at that time. Supervised running of the temple and was court of law for all but death. Had to be seen to support romans to keep position.

Because he believed that everyone was entitled to get to God and they were excluding the gentiles unfairly and preventing them for getting close to God- which is part of what he complains about in the incident in the temple.

Being baptised as a teenager allows you to make your own statement of faith rather than it being your parents statement- you are commiting your own beliefs in God, following Jesus' own example.

that Jesus was tempted just as they were however he did not give into temptaion however hard it was- this story helps us to show faith that God will help us through times of temptation. helps to be self-disciplined and follow christ's example.

At this point Peter and the others still believed that the messiah would be a great earthly power and warrior king. Jesus tried to show them here that this was not the case and to get them to understand that as true followers they must put self last.
