Temperature
When temperature increases, particles move faster so there are more collisions per unit time. Particles also start off with ore activation energy.
1 of 7
Concentration/ Pressure
When concentration increases, there are more particles in the same volume so there is a greater likelihood of collisions per unit time.
2 of 7
Surface Area
When surface area increaes, there is more area exposed and ready to react so there will be more frequent collisions per unit time.
3 of 7
Catalyst
Speeds up the reaction as it provides an alternative pathway for reaction with lower activation energy. Used in industry as plant doesn't need to run for as long and less energy saves money and is sustainable
4 of 7
Exothermic Reaction
Transfers heat energy to the surroundings: chemical energy of reactants is less than products
5 of 7
Endothermic Reaction
Takes in energy from the surroundings: chemical energy of products is greater than that of reactants
6 of 7
Reversible Reactions
Exothermic in one direction and endothermic in other direction
