What was the Plum Pudding Model?
The plum pudding model was devised by JJ Thomson in 1904. He believed that the atom was a dense sphere of positively charged matter (pudding) with electrons burried inside (plums in the pudding.)

The mass number is the number of protons and neutrons in a nucleus.

The atomic number is the number of protons in a nucleus. (Hence, the number of electrons as well.)
