Alpha radiation
An atomic nucleus emits and alpha particle amd thereby transforms into an atom with a mass number that is reduced by 4 and an atomic number that is reduced by 2.
1 of 7
Beta Radiation.
A high-speed electron; specifically one emiited by a radioactive nucleus in beta decay.
2 of 7
Gamma Radiation.
Is extremely high-frequency electromagnetic radiation and therefore consists of high-energy protons.
3 of 7
Atomic Number.
Is the number of protons, and therefore also the total positive charge, in the atomic nucleus.
4 of 7
Isotope.
They are the atoms of an element with different numbers of neutrons. They have the same proton numbers but different mass numbers.
5 of 7
Mass Number.
Is the total number of protons and neutrons in an atomic nucleus.
6 of 7
Half-Life.
Is the average time taken for the number of the nuclei in the sample to half.
