In depth study on one individual, rich detail is often gained but case studies are often unique and therefore not representative of the population.

Data which is rich in detail, in word format and often unique to that individual so is difficult to analyse.

Data that is in number format. This is easier to see trends, patterns and to analyse.

An ethical guideline for studies that involve people as participants, which ensures that their names must not be recorded and they must not be identifiable.
