What is the Computer Analogy?
Human brain is like a computer. Input -> Process -> output. During the process we actively use perception, attention and memory which interfere.

Memory is like a warehouse with different departments of knowledge. Short term memory at front and long at back

Declarative Knowledge (info we know) and Procedural Knowledge (things we know how to do)

What is Internal Mental Process?
Perception, attention, memory and language for understanding our surroundings. Finding a match in out memory.

Example of Internal Mental Process
We see a dog. We know it's a dog. We have perceived the features, searched our memories for a 'match' then name it with our knowledge of language

What are Schemas?
Packets of information for every event role and relationship. They evolve over time with experience.

Do schemas represent reality?
No! Built via social exchanges and the media.

Event Schemas (known as scripts) and Role Schemas (tell us about roles e.g. nurse)
