What is Orthello syndrome?
delusions of the infidelity of a spouse or partner

delusional parasitises - delusion that ones skin is infested by parasites

delusions that one no longer exists, is about to die, is rotting etc.

delusions that a familiar individual has been replaced by an identical looking imposter

delusion that a familiar individual is disgusting themselves as various strangers (usually persecutory)

a delusional disorder shared by two or more people in a close and dependant relationship

What is the prognosis of Schizophrenia?
Rule of 1/3's. 1/3 recover and lead normal lives, 1/3 fluctuating, 1/3 do not improve and frequent hosp. stays

What do you assess in Schizophrenia? (not before starting treatment)
smoking, diet, exercise, alcohol, drug, BMI, BP, ECG, blood, prolactin levels

What physical health problems do Schizophrenics have increased risk of?
CV disease, DM and cancer

single delusion, or set of related delusions, often persecutory
