What are teachings from the Bible about Christians and Racial Harmony?
Through the Parable of the Good Samaritan. Jesus taught that people should follow God's command and love one another.

Because then they're putting the teachings from the Bible into practice.

What does the Church of England have to promote Racial Harmony?
It has its own Race and Community Relationships Committee. It advises Christians about issues of Racism and helping Racial minorities with issues of unemployment and imprisonment.

Who is an example of promoting Christianity and Racial Harmony?
Martin Luther King JR. He worked for the rights and equality of Black people in the USA. He put Christian principles of helping others and treating people equally into action.

What are the teachings from the Qur'an about Islam and Racial Harmony?
The prophet declared in his last sermon that "there is no difference between Arabs and Non-Arabs. All races are loved by Allah and Allah created all humans the same. The Qur'an teaches that NO race is better than any other.

How do Muslims promote unity?
Muslims pray together in Arabic and Muslims from all over the world make the Pilgrimage (Hajj) to the holy city at least once in their lifetime and Muslims fast in the month of Ramadan.

Who is an example of promoting Islam and Racial Harmony?
Malcolm X. He was an African American Muslim who campaigned for racial equality after his family were attacked for being Black. He believed that 'Hajj' was the greatest example of Racial Harmony.

What are the view points from people about a Multi-Faith Society?
Most religious believers in the UK believe that people should follow the religion of their choice however, some others do not agree.

What is an issue with an inter-faith marriage?
Could cause conflict/disagreements between families with different beliefs and values.

What is an issue with raising children in an inter-faith marriage?
Both parents might want their children raised within their own faith. A mixture of beliefs could cause confusion.

What is an issue with conversion in a multi-faith society?
One group of religious believers try to convert another to their faith. This could cause arguments because different groups in society would believe that their religion is the right religion to follow.

What is exclusivism?
People believe that there is only one religion which is right and all others are wrong. Members of the 'right' religion should try and convert all others.

Through a religious group called 'The Council of Christians' who work together to open discussions and heal divisions between faiths.

Through a religious group called 'The Muslim Council of Britain' who encourage Muslims to take an active role in UK society and not be isolated in faith groups.

Sometimes media programmes accused of only showing one side of an argument or a biased presentation of an issue.

They present ideas of public concern but should not encourage racism or ill feelings, eg if they reported about a riot.

Many tv debates have religious themes, eg: about blasphemy.

The lack of reverence to God, to religious or holy things. Some religions consider it as a crime.

They often promote understanding or they air an issue which is highlighted in society eg; religious attitudes to women or different beliefs and ethnicitys living together on one street.
