Why is traditional education critiqued?
Teacher should facilitate learning. Learners need to independently think and criticise. It doesnt focus on individual needs and creates a miserable environment in school.

What reasons is the place of knowledge critiqued for?
information needs to be relevant to the child as well as knowledge relevant to life as it is easier to relate too. Also discovery learning > passive learning. Creativity and socialising is more beneficial than knowledge acquisition.

What does it mean by 'human nature' in terms of components?
With children being naturally curious, learning should be a natural process. The curriculum should be relevant to each age group.

What does the school community say about progressive education?
The relation between head and staff should be equal. Children should have a say from an early age. The school should reflect the whole community. School should be part of a community.
