FSM advise crew fuelling taking place. Must switch off PEDs, change into cabin shoes, stow baggage. Window blinds two rows forward and aft of each exit should remain open

Pre-flight equipment checks
The door and panel, the crew seat and harness, the portable safety and emergency equipment, interphone and PA system, any other equipment specifically assigned to their working position, toilets, cabins, galleys (adj to crew station)

Pre-flight security checks
visual security check of each stowage and report anything to FSM/CSS. Safety and security checks inc discrepancies must be notified in person immediately.

Notifying OBMs of security checks
Upper class crew pass checks to FSM, economy and premium pass checks to CSS at L4. CSS passes checks to the FSM

Door checks (at open doors)
should not be left open when passengers/crew on board without jetway/stairs. If exit is open with equipment in place, engineering must be called. Manned by crew member who is in their jump seat and secured with harness.

IFE monitors are serviceable and those at exits and cross isles etc can be stowed correctly, seat cushions in place with flame retardant cove, seat belts in place (airbag seatbelts are not fastened), seats remain upright except in upper

Contains an insert, clean and free of spillages, free of foreign objects, door seals intact and door closes and locks effectively

All carts, trolleys, brakes and restraints are operational, including the restraint latches between double stacked carts and air-larders

Unserviceable carts
Must be labelled with the 'unserviceable sticker'. Must not be removed from stowage or used for flight. Same applicable to atlas boxes.

Stowages are lockable and secureable, galley power functions correctly, curtains are securable in the open position, trash compactor operational.

Toilet checks
Smoke detector is not obstructed or damaged, waste bin flap operational, water and vacuum flush systems operate correctly i.e flush system cuts out, tap water not overheating, all stowages closed and securable, internal lights function correctly
