Life expectancy
The average amount of years a person can expect to live

– the increase of life expectancy over a period of time. This can be as a direct result of improved medical care and increased levels of economic development. People live longer and this increases the older population.

the change in size of the population due to the interrelationship between birth rate and death rate. If the death rate exceeds birth rate, the population will decline. If the birth rate exceeds death rate, the population will increase

The population cannot fully utilise the resources available. Quality of life can only be slowly improved. An increase in population will lead to an increase in quality of life.
