Can be moulded with heat over and over again
Thermoplastics

Hard, shiny and transparent. Used in badge making and for packaging
Acetate

Hard, shiny and brittle. Used in schools and come in a range of colours. Can be bent using a line bender or oven.
Acrylic

Comes in too main types, low density and high density. Low density is used for carrier bags and bottles and high density is stiff and strong, often used for washing up bowls
Polyethylene

Have a variety of uses such as drinks bottles and clothes
Polyesters

Tough and flexible. Products made with a living hinge such as a lunch box are made from this. Also used for packaging, chairs, textiles and car components.
Polypropylene

Comes in two types. Expanded, which is light weight and crumbly and high impact, which is used for vacuum forming and fabricating boxes for products
Polystyrene

Is quite brittle. Is used for blister packs, window frames and vinyl records.
Polyvinyl Chloride
