1. Serosa (visceral peritoneum)- covers organs which project into the peritoneal cavity. 2. Parietal peritoneum- lines inner surface of body wall.

What does peritoneal fluid allow?
Allows parietal and visceral surfaces to move next to each other without any friction

What are mesenteries?
Double sheets of peritoneal membrane which suspend some parts of the digestive tract.
