What is current?
the rate of flow of charge around a circuit.
1 of 14
What is the unit for current?
Ampere, A.
2 of 14
What is voltage?
The driving force that pushes current around the circuit.
3 of 14
What is another name for voltage?
Potential difference
4 of 14
What is the unit for voltage?
Volt, V.
5 of 14
What is resistance?
anything in a circuit which slows the flow down.
6 of 14
What is the unit for resistance?
Ohm
7 of 14
What happens if you increase the voltage?
more current will flow
8 of 14
What happens if you increase the resistance?
Less current will flow.
9 of 14
What happens when an electrical charge goes through a change in potential difference?
Energy is transferred.
10 of 14
At the power source what happens to the charge?
Energy is supplied and raises the voltage.
11 of 14
What happens to the voltage and charge at components in the circuit?
The charge gives up energy and the voltage lowers.
12 of 14
The bigger the change in voltage means...
The more energy is transferred for a given amount of charge through the circuit.
13 of 14
When a Battery has a Bigger voltage what happens to the energy supply in the circuit?
A bigger voltage will supply more energy to the circuit, as the charge is raised up higher at the start more energy is dissipated around the circuit too.
