What is acceleration?
How quickly velocity is changing
1 of 14
What is the difference between speed and velocity?
velocity is how fast your going in a certain direction and speed is just how fast your going
2 of 14
What is the formula for weight?
Weight = mass x gravitational field strength
3 of 14
If there is no resultant force on a moving object what will happen?
Carry on at the same velocity
4 of 14
If there is a non-zero resultant force on the object what will happen?
It will accelerate in the direction of the force
5 of 14
What is resultant force?
The overall force on a point or object
6 of 14
When two objects interact the forces they exert on each other are equal but opposite, true or false
True
7 of 14
When do you get friction?
Between two surfaces in contact and when an object passes through a fluid
8 of 14
What is terminal velocity?
the highest speed a falling object can reach
9 of 14
What happens when a force moves an object through a distance?
Energy is transferred and work is done
10 of 14
What is thinking distance and what affects it?
The distance the car travels during the drivers reaction time, drugs, alcoholism, tiredness, bad attitude, how fast your going
11 of 14
What is braking distance and what affects it?
braking distance is the distance the car travels under the braking force and it is affected by how fast your going, how good your brakes are, how good the tyres are and and how good the grip is e.g. road conditions
12 of 14
What is the limit of proportionality?
The maximum force that the elastic object can take and still extend proportionally
13 of 14
what is power and it's equation?
Power is the rate of doing work, and Power = work done (or energy transferred)/ time taken
