?
Velocity is. Acceleration is.
Velocity is speed in a given direction. Acceleration is the change of velocity per second, the unit is meter per second squared.
1 of 8
Word equation for acceleration.
Acceleration= change of velocity (divide) time taken.
2 of 8
Deceleration.
Deceleration is the change of velocity per second when an object slows down.
3 of 8
Velocity- time graphs.
If it has a horizontal line, the acceleration is zero. The gradient of the line represents acceleration. The area under the line on the graoh represents distance travelled.
4 of 8
Force between objects.
A force can change the shape of an objector changeits motion or its state of rest. The unit of force is Newtons. When two objects interact, they always exert equal and opposite forces on each other.
5 of 8
Resultant force.
The resultant force is a single force that has the same effect as all the forces acting on an object. If the resultant force on an object is zero- the object stays at rest or at a constant velocity. If its not zero the velocity will change.
6 of 8
Force and acceleration.
The bigger the resultant force on an object, the greater its acceleration is. The greater the mass of an object is, the smaller its acceleration is for a given force.
7 of 8
Force and acceleration equation.
Resultant force (newtons, N) = Mass (kilograms) x Acceleration (metres/second{squared}).
