Physics renewable fuels

?
What is wave energy?
Waves provide an up and down motion which drive a generator
1 of 7
What is wind energy?
Wind turns the blades which turn the turbine and turn the generator
2 of 7
What is solar energy?
Generated straight from the sunlight therefore do not work at night
3 of 7
What is hydroelectric?
Rainwater is caught and flows from a higher reservoir to a lower one which turns the turbine then the generator
4 of 7
What is pumped STORAGE?
Night time electricity pumps water up to a higher reservoir which can be released quickly at peak times
5 of 7
What are tidal barrages?
As the tide comes in it fills the estuaries several meters and drives the turbine. It happens twice a day without fail around a predicted height as the source of energy is the sun and moon
6 of 7
What is geothermal?
Radioactive decay produce heat which heats the rocks which heat the water to produce steam that rises to the surface to turn the turbine, in some places the heat heats buildings directly
