What is the difference between speed and velocity?
Speed= how fast you are going. Velocity= speed with a direction.
1 of 12
What is velocity and what is the unit?
How quickly velocity is changing. Measured in M/S squared.
2 of 12
The two things does gravity do?
Makes things accelerate towards the ground and gives everything a weight.
3 of 12
What is the difference between weight and mass. What are their units.
Weight= caused by gravity and measured in newtons. Mass= the amount of stuff in an object, measured in KG.
4 of 12
What is resultant force?
The overall force acting on a point or object.
5 of 12
Resultant force on a stationary is zero...
The object will remain stationary.
6 of 12
No resultant force on a moving object...
Carry on moving at the same velocity.
7 of 12
Non- zero resultant force...
Object will accelerate in the direction of the force.
8 of 12
When two object interact the forces exerted on each other are...
Equal and opposite. So if you push something it was push back against you just as hard.
9 of 12
What is friction? What does it do? What is it called in air/liquid?
Friction works in the opposite direction to movement and it slows things down. Called resistance or drag in air/liquid.
10 of 12
Explain terminal velocity?
First set of force of gravity is greater than fictional force slowing it down. Speed increases friction builds up. Speed reduces to frictional and accelerating forces are equal. Object won't accelerate anymore= reached its terminal velocity.
11 of 12
What 2 things does frictional force depend on?
Objects shape and area.
