Physics CP1 revision

?
Acceleration
The measure of how quickly the velocity changes in an object
1 of 12
displacement
the distance travelled in a particular direction
2 of 12
distance
how far something has travelled (regardless of direction)
3 of 12
force
a push, pull or twist effect which acted on a object, can cause it to accelerate
4 of 12
magnitude
The size of something e.g. A force
5 of 12
mass
the amount of material that there is in a object ( mass is also a scalar quantity)
6 of 12
weight
The force pulling down on a object, this depending on the mass of the object and the gravitational field strength (weight is a vector)
7 of 12
scalar quantity
a quantity that only has magnitude (size) e.g. mass, distance, energy and speed
8 of 12
vector quantity
a quantity that has magnitude (size) and direction e.g. force, displacement, momentum and acceleration
9 of 12
momentum
the measure of motion (mass x velocity)
10 of 12
velocity
the speed of an object in a particular direction
11 of 12
Speed
The measure of the time it takes for an object to travel across a certain distance (distance divided by time)
