What is work done?
Work is the ENERGY TRANSFERRED by a FORCE. When work is done by an object, energy is transferred from the object. When work is done on an object, energy is transferred to the object.
1 of 5
What is the formula for Work Done?
Work done (joules) = Force (newtons) x Distance (meters)
2 of 5
What are the main energy stores?
MAGNETIC, KINETIC, HEAT (THERMAL), LIGHT, GRAVITATIONAL POTENTIAL, CHEMICAL, SOUND, ELECTROSTATIC, ELASTIC POTENTIAL, NUCLEAR
3 of 5
What is the Conservation of Energy?
ENERGY CANNOT BE CREATED TO DESTROYED - It can only be converted from one form (store) to another.
4 of 5
What is a closed system?
A closed system in an ISOLATED SYSTEM in which NO ENERGY TRANSFERS take place OUT of or INTO energy stores of the system. Energy can be transferred between energy stored in a closed system, the total energy of the system is the same before and after.
