What is speed?
The distance travelled in a certain amount of time.

What is acceleration?
It is how quickly you are speeding up or how quickly the speed is changing.

What are the forces when driving a car?
Gravity or weight which acts downwards, reaction force which acts upwards thrust/push/pull to speed something up and drag to slow something down.

What is terminal velocity?
It is when a falling object reaches its fasted speed.

What is thinking distance?
The distance the car travels in the time between the driver noticing the hazard and actually pressing the brake.

What is braking distance?
The distance taken for the car to stop once the driver has pressed the brakes.

What is stopping distance ?
It is the braking distance and the thinking distance added together.

What could effect the thinking distance?
Being under the influence of alcohol or drugs, distractions such as being on your phone, lack of concentration, being tired and being careless.

What could effect the braking distance?
The weather conditions, condition of the road and the condition of the car.

Crumple zone, seat belt, air bags, brakes, and electric windows.
