Photosynthesis, Diffusion and Osmosis (Foundation Tier)

A little quic to test your knowledge on photosynthesis, diffusion and osmosis. Hope this is helpful for your OCR 21st Century Additional exams!

?
What is the word equation for photoynthesis?
Carbon dioxide + water > glucose + oxygen
1 of 5
Light energy is required in photosynthesis. What chemical absorbs light enegry?
Chlorophyll
2 of 5
What is diffusion?
Diffusion is a chemical process in which particles spread from a region of high concentration to a lower concentration (they diffuse down a conentration gradient).
3 of 5
A partially permeable membrane separates two solutions; pure water and a dilute solution. Which is higher in concentration? Pure water or the dilute solution? Explain your answer.
Pure water - The particles will spread FROM the pure water TO the dulite solution, so the particles will diffuse down a concentration gradient.
4 of 5
What are the three limiting factors of photosynthesis?
Light intensity, carbon dioxide concentration and temperature.
