Conscience
An inner voice or feeling giving guidance on the rightness or wrongness of behaviour.

The belief that God created humans with the ability to make moral choices.

Jesus' teaching the people that they should treat others as they wish to be treated themselves.

Biblical character whose faith is tested.

Evil and suffering caused by people.

Natural evil
Evil and suffering caused by natural events such as earthquakes.

Powerful, able to do anything.

The sin which was brought into the world at the Fall and which Christianity teaches everyone is born with.

Redemption
The idea that sins can be forgiven and a person can be redeemed. Jesus is often referred to by Christians as the Redeemer as he died for the sins of the whole world.

Giving up a life for God.

A supernatural evil power.

The disobedience of Adam and Eve resulting in their expulsion from Eden.

Out of nothing.

Intelligent design
A theory which says that life is so complex that it must have been designed by a higher intelligent being, and did not evolve by natural selection.

A story which attempts to explain the origins of natual phenomena or aspects of human behaviour.

Natural selection
Theory that tiny differences and genetic mutations between creatures of the same species can sometimes make an individual slightly better suited to their environment than others. This gets passed down the generations.
