Women have smaller heart and lungs so they have a lower oxygen capacity, women have a lower total muscle mass, women are far more flexible than men, they have different body physiques, they mature at different rates and women menstruate.

There is greater coverage of minority sports, makes a wider variety of sports more accessible, attracts interest and encourages sponsorship. Sport rules and seasons may change to suit the media and sport can suffer from overexposure.

+ Financial gain from product sales, develops a healthy image and helps promote minority sports. - Doesn't guarantee success, can be risky backing a new talent, injury may shorten career and the product may fail to sell.

What are the advantages and disadvantages to the performer?
+ Supplies equipment, pays for coaching, provides transport, pays entry fees to competitions and provides a living. - Sponsorship may only be short term, performer may have to commit advertising and performer may have to fulfill other demands.

What is the difference between knock out and ladder competitions?
Ladder - competitors are put vertically in a ladder and they have to play the person above them to move up if they win. Knock out - the players play everyone while they carry on winning until there are only 2 players left for the final.

What is the difference between round robin and tournaments?
Round robin competitions involve each team playing all the other competitors, the team winning the most games wins the competition. Tournaments are when teams need to qualify for competition and the top 2 teams go to the knockout stages.

What are the advantages of holding international sporting events?
Home teams receive greater sport, more family members to provide support, home performers are used to the culture, increase in jobs, increase in tourism, increased assets of the country, improved infrastructure & people are inspired to participate.

What are the dis-advantages of holding international sporting events?
Magnet for protest groups, may be a threat of terrorism, a lot of pressure on the country, new facilities are expensive, homes and businesses may have to relocate out of the community, increased pollution & congestion and possible increase in taxes.

People want to copy their achievements, people want to have their lifestyle, people will copy how they behave and people may copy the way they dress. However, this is both good and bad.

How can risks in sport be prevented?
Risks are reduced if the correct technique and skills are performed, the correct footwear gives support grip movement & aids performance specific to your sport and clothing should be in good order, fit appropriately and not catch on equipment.

How can the development of ICT and technology help within sport?
Some specialised devices can be used to improve performance and prevent injury. Technology can be used to record and analyse performance which can help them to improve.
