What are the 5 methods of practice?
Massed, Distributed, Varied, Fixed, Mental Rehearsel

Explain Massed practice and give a practical example
This is where learners practice continuously without breaks. An example of this would be a quarterback throwing a ball over and over.

Explain Distributed practice and give a practical example
Practice sessions have rest intervals implementing into them. A practical example could be a learner swimming a length then resting while they recieve feedback off their coach.

Explain Varied practice and give a practical example
This is where the environment in which the skill is being practised is constantly changing. An example of this would be a 2v1 passing practice in Rugby.

Explain Fixed practice and give a practical example
Fixed practice is where the environment remains contant, however the practice is repetitive. It is sometimes referred for a skill drills. A practical example of this would be the Shot Put.

Explain Mental Rehearsel and give a practical example.
Mental Rehearsel is where a performer will mentally perform the skill in their mind, without physically performing the skill. A practical example of this could be a person doing karate mentally performing their Kata.
