How does exercise increase in fitness help?
Muscles can be strengthen and made more flexible. Exercise uses up calories, this can contribute to a controlled weight programme.

How does exercise make the individual feel good?
Exercise produces serotonin - "feel good" hormone - good for heart, lungs, muscles, bones and mind. Regular physical activity improves fitness and body shape - helps participant feel and look good. Exercise can help people with low self-esteem.

How does exercise help relieve stress and tension?
Physical activities can provide a distraction from daily life problems. Although exercise cannot solve the problem, exercise provides a completely different distraction.

How does exercise increase self-esteem and confidence?
Many activities provide a physical challenge. Over coming such a challenge gives a sense of achievement which leads to increase in self-esteem and confidence. For example it is very difficult to complete the London Marathon.
