what are the positive affects of stimulants?
reduce fatigue,speed up reactions, raise heart rate, performer feels alert and confident (relieves anxiety), can work for longer without feeling fatigue, motivates you.

what are the negative affects of stimulants?
overheating, cause violent & aggressive behaviour, high blood pressure liver/ brain damage, heart problems, addiction, difficulty sleeping, hunger reduction.

what do narcotic analgesics do?
they mask pain, e.g. morphine and methadone

pain relief, reduce perception of pain, the reaction to pain and also the patients tolerance of pain.

what are anabolic steroids?
testosterone and other anabolic steroids enhance athletic performance in men and women. as a result, exogenous androgen is banned from most competitive sports.

what are positive affects of anabolic steroids?
body hair, bone mass, deep voice pitch, fat distribution, libido (sex drive) ,muscles size and strength, red blood cell production, spermatogenesis (the development of mature sperm)

what are the negative affects of anabolic steroids?
anger, fatigue, depression, changes in mood, decreased erectile quality, increased abdominal fat mass, less body hair.lowering of libido (sex drive), osteoporosis (thinning of the bones)
