How does the photoelectric effect work?
Light is shone on a metal, if the frequency of the light is high enough, the photons will have enough energy (hf) to displace an electron in a 1:1 ratio.

The minimum amount of energy a photon needs to displace an electron from the surface of a metal

The minimum frequency which gives photons enough energy to displace electrons from the surface of a metal
