no one with knowledge of milgrams study could take part. 29 males and 41 females ages between 20-81, paid $50 for 2x 45 min sessions, max shock was 150V shock of 15V given, two-step screening process. 1.phone call 2.anxiety and depression interview.

70% of pp obeyed to 150V, little gender diff men and women needed first prod around the same time.

possible to replicate in a less harmful way, obedience rates have not changed dramatically in the last 50 years.

acknowledged ethical concerns. screening process. immediately debriefed and experimenter was a clinical psychologist.
