What is the difference beween a primary energy source and a secondary energy source?
Primary energy sources are used in the form that they are found. Secondary energy sources are proudced frm primary sources.
1 of 9
Why will our supply of fossil fuels run out?
We are using them quicker than they can be replaced.
2 of 9
How do fossil-fuel power stations contribute to global warming?
Burning them produces CO2, which is a greenhouse gas and causes pollution/rise in temperaures.
3 of 9
What damage is caused to the environment when extracting fossil fuels?
Oil spills when drilling for it, damage to local areas from coal mining.
4 of 9
What damage is caused to the environment when burning fossil fuels?
It produces sulphur dioxide, which contributes to acid rain.
5 of 9
What is the equation for measuring energy transferred?
Energy transferred = power X time.
6 of 9
What is the equation for calculating power?
Power (W) = voltage (V) X current (A).
7 of 9
What transfers electrical energy in a circuit?
A component.
8 of 9
Why does the energy in a circuit eventually spread to the surroundings?
The component, wires and cables heat up slightly, emitting heat energy.
