What is a photocell?
A solar cell with a flat surface that captures as much light energy from the Sun as possible.

What does a photocell do?
Transfers light energy into an electric current that travels in the same direction all the time (DC).

How do photocells work?
Sun's energy causes electrons in photocell to be knocked loose from silicon crystals - flow freely as an electric current.

Surface area exposed to light, distance from the light source and the intensity of that source.

An efficient solar panel must track (follow) the Sun in the sky.
