How does the frequency, wavelenght and danger change?
As the frequency increases wavelenght decrease. As frequency increase danger increases. As wavelength incease danger decreases.

How was infrared discovery? 1/2
Herschal split a beam of white light into a spectrum using a prism. Used thermometers to measure the temperature in each colour. Noticed that the temperature increased as he moved towards the red end of the visible spectrum.
2 of 16
How was infrared discover? 2/2
Wondered if the pattern continued beyond red where there was no visible light. Measured just byond red. discovered it was even hotter. Concluded there must be invisible light below red that carried heat.
3 of 16
How was ultraviolet discover? 1/3
Ritter split a beam of white light into a spectrum using a prism. Placed silver chloride in each colour of the spectrum and measured how quickly it changed colour.
4 of 16
How was ultraviolet discover? 2/3
Noticed the silver chloride changed colour faster towards the violet end of the visible spectrum. wondered if the pattern continued beyond violet where there was no visible light. tested just beyond violet.

How was ultraviolet discover? 3/3
Discovered the silver chloride changed even faster.Conclused there must be invisible light beyond vilet

What are the uses and dangers of radio waves?
Radio can be used T.V, radio broadcast, sateliite communication and has no dangers.
7 of 16
What are the uses and dangers of microwaves?
Microwaves can be use satellite communication, cooking, moblie phones and the danger can be internal heating.
8 of 16
What are the uses and dangers of infrared?
INfrared can be used for toasters, grills, T.V. remotes controls, infrared cameras, optical fibers, burglar alarms and can caused skin burns.
9 of 16
What are the uses and dangers of visible light?
Visible light can be used for vision, protography, illumination and can cause intense light can damage eyes.
10 of 16
What are the uses and dangers of ultraviolet?
Ultraviolet can be used for security markings, disinfecting water, sun beds and can cause skin cancer and eye damges.
11 of 16
What are the uses and dangers of X-rays?
X-rays can be used for medical imaging and airport security and can cause cell damage/death, cell mutation to leading to cancer.
12 of 16
What are the uses and dangers of Gamma?
Gamma rays can be used for sterilizing food/medical equipment, treatment, dectection of cancer and can cause cell damage/death, cell mutation leading to cancer.
13 of 16
what are the three types of ioning radiation emitted by radiactive sources?
Alpha particle, Beta particle and gamma ray. They all transfer energy and are continuosuly given out at random.
14 of 16
What is ionising radiation?
Ionising radiation removes electrons from atoms leaving them with an unequal number of electrons and protons and therefore with an overall harge.
15 of 16
What are ions?
Atoms with a charge are know as ions. Ions are very dangerous as they are very reactive and combine with molecules inside cells chaning them and stop them working, which can lead to cancer, cell death and damage.
