What do we mean by diffraction?
Diffraction is the spreading out of waves when they pass through a gap or around an obstacle.
1 of 5
What is the effect of gap width on the diffraction of waves?
The narrower a gap is, the greater the diffraction is.
2 of 5
Why is radio and TV reception often poor in hilly areas?
If radio waves do not diffract enough when they go over hills, radio and TV reception will be poor.
3 of 5
Why don't we often observe diffraction of light during everyday life?
Because the wavelength of light is very short.
4 of 5
What sort of waves are diffracted?
All waves are diffracted.
