What does the efficiency of the appliance tell us?
The efficiency of an appliance tells us how good the appliance is at usefully transferring energy.

How do you work out efficiency?
Useful energy transferred / Total energy transferred

What does a Sankey Diagram show us?
It shows us the energy transfers which take place in an appliance and if the energy has been transferred usefully or wasted. We can also calculate the efficiency of the appliance.

How do you work out Power?
Power(W) = Energy(J) / Time(s)

How do you work out Energy in kWh?
Energy(kWh) = Power(kW) x time(h)

How do you work out the cost an appliance takes to run?
